Lighting the Way: Unveiling the Spectacular Luminaire at SYD International Airport.

Heinemann introduced a new section to the International Airport showcasing the high ticket brands like Prada, Gucci, Burberry and LV. It all began with an idea to match that high-ticket standard. The design came into existence as a “HALO” like structure with a golden finish floating above the entire area.

4 x halo luminaires were conceptualized using SolidWorks, testing using ANSYS while collaborating with Architectus. The halo structures over lap one another with only 4-8 Anchor point locations for attachments. The entire pathway running along the expanse had x120 stop lights with a fixed angle, illuminating products and seating areas.

A few of the many interesting features of the structure -

  • Each Halo structure weighs approx. 800kg

  • the biggest structure has an elliptical dimensioning of 20m x 12m

  • the structure illuminates from the bottom via spotlights and the top via led strip running and reflecting along the top reflectors.

The final design was signed-off by the client. The same can be viewed installed and in operation at the Airport.
